Debt to Elders in Progress Toward Diversity

That was a fine article by William Schechter on diversity [“Watson Rice LLP: A Role Model in Diversity,” Personal Viewpoint, February 2002] and the progress that we as a profession have made. The story is actually a little better than portrayed there because, long before equal opportunity became fashionable, NYSSCPA presidents like Ed Weinstein and Bob Israeloff were leaders in this effort. We CPAs have a lot to be proud of here and we owe a debt to our elders.
