End-of-Year Perspective on 2001
We're grateful to Bruce Bernstein for sharing an original poem he wrote to include with his firm's holiday cards this year:
2001 turned out to be a year in which to reflect, What our real priorities are and those we should reject. Commerce is still necessary and has always been throughout the ages.
It began with barter and progressed in stages. It has developed into an economy so very complex; Decisions cannot be made by a simple reflex. They need to be made taking so much into consideration; Of course the most integral is your accountant's participation. After the shock at the magnitude of this year's tragic events, And the fact they were perpetrated by radicals living in tents, The nation has rallied and has decided to survive; The government has announced, the economy they must revive. They have drastically cut interest rates, which is intended to increase lending;
They even want to reduce taxes, to stimulate spending. Before the recovery is in full swing and the war on terrorism is done, Comes this holiday season and the end of 2001. For many, their perspective on life has changed; Hopefully, life's cards for 2002 have been better arranged. May they include health, happiness, a wild card too, Which would include anything positive, according to your view. Undoubtedly, we will speak next tax season. Happy Holidays and New Year. Please call for any reason.
All our best wishes,
Bernstein & Bernstein CPAs, Hicksville, N.Y.
