State Tax Department Information Available Through E-Subscription Service
On October 23, New York State Commissioner of Taxation and Finance Arthur J. Roth announced the introduction of a new electronic subscription service designed to give up-to-the-minute access to information affecting taxpayers.
The free e-mail service provides subscribers with updates from the department containing direct links to important notices, popular publications, Technical Services Bureau memoranda (TSB-M), and Technical Services Bureau advisory opinions (TSB-A) as they are posted on the website. Subscribers also receive a link to the New York State Tax Appeals Tribunal's website, which contains links to recently issued tribunal decisions.
Customers can subscribe to receive TSB-Ms, TSB-As, popular publications, important notices, and tribunal decisions in each of four categories: corporation tax, sales tax, withholding tax, and miscellaneous tax. Subscriptions are also available for the "Empire State Tax News" newsletter, press releases, and career opportunities. Users can subscribe and unsubscribe to any list at any time and may choose to receive e-mails either "as issued" or on a weekly basis.
The tax department's website (www.tax.state.ny.us) also offers access to information, forms, and instructions. For more information, or to sign up for the e-mail subscription service, visit the subscription page (www.tax.state.ny.us/ Subscription_Service/).
