A Fair and Just Outcome

I enjoyed reading the article “Stock Options as Marital Property” [The CPA Consultant, February 2001] because you were writing about my case.

The final outcome was that the trial courts determined all shares in the incentive stock option plan (ISOP) and recognition and retention plan (RRP) were given to me for future services. Nancy De Jesus was entitled to only 50% percent of the shares earned between Nov. 18, 1993 (grant of shares), and July 30, 1994 (commencement of divorce), and the New York Court of Appeals applied the Majauskas formula referred to in your article. I feel the judgment was a fair and just one, based on the facts.
