ALBRECHT HONORED AS OUTSTANDING EDUCATOR

Regular CPA Journal contributor W. Steve Albrecht, PhD, CIA, CFE, CPA, was named by the AICPA as this year’s recipient of its Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education Award. The award recognizes full-time college accounting educators for excellence in teaching and national prominence in the accounting profession. Albrecht received the award at the AICPA’s May Council meeting in Washington, D.C.

Albrecht is the Arthur Andersen LLP Alumni Professor of Accounting and associate dean of the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University. His most recent article in The CPA Journal was “The Perilous Future of Accounting Education,” March 2001, co-authored with Robert J. Sack, CPA.
