Website of the Month: Electronic Accountant

The Electronic Accountant (www. electronicaccountant.com), a Faulkner & Gray property billing itself as "the accountant's web magazine and resource guide," specializes in news, media information, and links to other accounting-related websites. It does its job well, having chosen to function as an all-encompassing but well-organized hub.

Its categories show that its developers have paid attention to the common vocabulary of the accounting profession, and a visitor who gets lost can return to the home page or initiate a search of the entire website from virtually any page. On the downside, many pages-the home page especially-feature distracting blinking banners and other ads. However, delving deeper into the website content allows one to leave the busy-ness behind.

The website also offers numerous discussion forums, grouped under logical categories and using headings that include thorough descriptions and the date of the last entry.

Overall, the website is well designed and maintained, containing many same-day news items, thorough archives, and a moderate to high level of user friendliness.
