Three inducted into Accounting Hall of Fame

Three distinguished accountants, Joel S. Demski, Shaun O'Malley, and Ross Skinner, were inducted into the Accounting Hall of Fame in a ceremony at the American Accounting Association's annual meeting, held August 13-16 in Philadelphia.

Demski, Frederick E. Fisher Eminent Scholar of Accounting at the University of Florida, Gainesville, was recognized for his original and insightful contributions to accounting theory and research.

O'Malley, formerly national partner of Price Waterhouse, received the award for his contributions to auditing practice and policy, including his recent chairmanship of the POB Panel on Audit Effectiveness.

Skinner, former partner in the Canadian accounting firm Clarkson Gordon (now merged with Ernst & Young) in Toronto, played a central role in the development of Canadian accounting and auditing policy and has authored many influential books and articles.
