The International Accountancy Profession IFAC 2000 Conference will be held in Edinburgh, Scotland, May 2426, in conjunction with the assembly meeting of IFAC.
The conference theme, "The Needs of Capital Markets: A Measured Response," is aimed at accountants, auditors, regulators, lawyers, international stock exchange officials, chief executives, and chief financial officers of multinational companies, as well as other professionals involved in the capital markets worldwide.
Conference speakers include Lord Marshall of British Airways; Richard Grasso, New York Stock Exchange chair; Mary Tokar of the International Organization of Securities and Exchange Commissions; Mary Keegan, head of the global corporate reporting group of PricewaterhouseCoopers; Robert Elliott, AICPA chair; and other representatives from Arthur Andersen, KPMG, the Financial Services Authority, and the European Commission.
