HARCOURT BRACE PUBLISHES FIRST "HOW TO" GUIDE ON ELECTRONIC COMMERCE ASSURANCE SERVICES

Harcourt Brace Professional Publishing announces the release of the newest guide in its Miller Engagement Series: Miller Electronic Commerce Assurance Services. According to Harcourt Brace, this is the first guide to offer detailed instruction on how to perform emerging types of assurance services related to online operating and compliance.

The guide explains the internal control practices and assurance techniques that can be applied to electronic commerce, focusing on helping the practitioner execute the assurance project. It includes step-by-step guidance and sample forms and letters; an accompanying disk contains practice aids relating to each topic.

Authors Karl D. Nagel, CPA, and Glen L. Gray, PhD, CPA, created the guide in response to the increasing importance of business conducted over the Internet. The range of topics includes the following:

* Introduction to electronic commerce assurance services

* Introduction to professional standards related to electronic commerce assurance service engagements
