KPMG WINS AWARD FOR KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT PROCESS

Boston's Delphi Group, Inc., knowledge management analysts, recently presented the tax practice of KPMG Peat Marwick LLP with an award for best practices in knowledge management. KPMG's implementation of a knowledge management process throughout its internal nationwide tax practice won the honor as the "Most Innovative Knowledge Application of Knowledge Management--Best Return on Knowledge."

The Delphi Group said that KPMG won its award based on a rigorous set of criteria that required the firm to show how well its knowledge management process--

    * advanced the state-of-the-art in knowledge management,

    * showed quantifiable payback,

    * fostered a knowledge-sharing culture,

    * created a learning organization, and

    * improved the quality of life for employees or client.
