IMA NAMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Richard M. Swanson has been named executive director of the Institute of Management Accountants. Swanson, 50 years old, had been chief financial officer of a unit of Delmarva Power & Light. Previously, he held a number of financial management positions within the DuPont Company, including having served as an executive in various subsidiaries in Europe and South America. He also spent several years as a management consultant with the firm of Gunn Partners, in their Geneva, Switzerland branch. In making the announcement, IMA President Dr. Keith Bryant, CMA, stressed that Swanson's more than 20 years of global experience in leadership, team building, and corporate finance benchmarking will play a role as IMA looks to expand services in the U.S. and overseas to better meet the needs of its members and corporate sponsors of its certification programs, Certified Management Accountant and Certified in Financial Management. *
