MEDIATION AND ARBITRATION DEPARTMENT TO DEBUT IN MARCH

Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) is an answer for many as a low-cost, but effective way of resolving conflict, especially when the conflict arises out of a commercial transaction. The conflict gets resolved, and business between the parties continues.

In recognition of the increasing awareness of the potential benefits of using ADR, beginning in March 1998 The CPA Journal will feature a new department called The CPA in Mediation and Arbitration. The editor of the department is Philip Zimmerman, former managing partner of Paneth Haber & Zimmerman LLP, who serves as both a mediator and arbitrator and also consults with those interested in exploring the use of these techniques. The material in the department will be written to be of interest to CPAs in and out of public practice. Look for the department quarterly beginning next month. *

The CPA Journal is broadly recognized as an outstanding, technical-refereed publication aimed at public practitioners, management, educators, and other accounting professionals. It is edited by CPAs for CPAs. Our goal is to provide CPAs and other accounting professionals with the information and news to enable them to be successful accountants, managers, and executives in today's practice environments.
