TEMPS HAVE PERMANENT PLACE IN STAFFING BUDGETS With a rapidly changing workforce, temporary staff have moved beyond the traditional stand-in role for absent employees. According to a national survey, a majority of businesses, 82% of respondents, now have permanent line items for temps in their human resources budgets.

As companies look to better manage workloads and take advantage of growth opportunities while avoiding overstaffing, it is now standard operating procedure to include an annual allocation for temporaries.

The survey includes responses from 150 executives with the nation's 1,000 largest companies, and was conducted by an independent research firm on behalf of OfficeTeam, an employment agency specializing in temporary office and administrative professionals. *
