GREAT PLAINS' DYNAMICS ACCOUNTING TECHNOLOGY ADVISOR PROGRAM

The AICPA, in cooperation with Great Plains Software, Inc., is offering the Dynamics Accounting Technology Advisor Program. This new technology-consulting program is designed to provide the education and tools necessary for CPAs to make informed recommendations about technologies for accounting and financial management to their clients. Great Plains Software, a provider of Microsoft Windows NT client/server financial management software for mid-sized businesses, will provide the Dynamics Accounting Technology Advisor program to AICPA members as part of the AICPA Technology Advisor Program (TAP). The TAP was announced in July at the AICPA Computer Technology Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Dynamics Accounting Technology Advisor (ATA) will provide CPAs with a high level of guidance and direction regarding the purchase of a client's future accounting system. Additionally, the Dynamics ATA will work closely with a local existing Dynamics value added reseller (VAR) for detailed needs analysis, product procurement, data migration, installation, implementation, software customization, training, and ongoing support.

Members participating in the program will receive an Accounting Technology Advisor Kit which includes software documentation, education tools, and technical support. The program also offers participants the opportunity to obtain, certification by completing a Dynamics Certified Accounting Application Specialist Exam within 180 days of ATA membership with Great Plains Software. The AICPA will award a Certificate of Educational Achievement (CEA) to participants who complete the course and pass the exam.

The Dynamics ATA program is available to AICPA and state society members in public practice or who have business consulting practices. The cost of the program is $849, plus shipping and handling. To place an order, contact the AICPA Order Department at (800) 862-4272 and request product number 990502, or call Great Plains Software at 800 4GPS-ATA. *
