TELETIN DELAYS, AN ANNOYANCE
The TELETIN program enables taxpayers and representatives to obtain a taxpayer identification number (TIN) quickly over the phone. The program is several years old and has been well received by the practitioner community. However, of late the TELETIN program has not been operating smoothly. The IRS is aware of the problems with TELETIN and is working to correct them as soon as possible. Practitioner patience is being requested. *
