MICROSOFT, AICPA, AND PARTNERS
Microsoft Corp. and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) hosted an Internet Conference for State CPA Societies, a two-day event designed to provide state CPA societies with the tools and knowledge they need to give their members immediate, low-cost access to valuable accounting industry information on the World Wide Web. Sponsored by Microsoft, the AICPA, Faulkner & Gray, K2 Enterprises, Dell Computer Corp., Netcom Inc., and U.S. Robotics Corp., the conference took place Aug. 20 and 21 at the Bellevue Hyatt in Bellevue, Washington. During the conference, attendees were given information on developing Web sites for their organizations with a commitment to supply the software and hardware tools necessary to establish and maintain their sites.
By hosting this conference and supplying software and hardware, Microsoft and the other sponsors concretely demonstrated their view of the importance of the CPA market in the distribution of their products. *
