The Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation (MAPI) has announced a very impressive conference on current trends on the regulation of accounting, disclosure, and audit planned for June 16-18, 1996, at the Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City, Arlington, Virginia. Chair of the Public Oversight Board, A.A. Somer, Jr., FASB member Neel Foster, GAO chief accountant Don Chapin, SEC chief accountant Michael Sutton, Auditing Standards Board chair Randy Noonan, Institute of Internal Auditors chair William Taylor, and International Accounting Standards Committee member Patricia McConnell are scheduled to participate. The cost of the conference to members is $450 and to nonmembers $550. MAPI promotes the technological and economic progress of the U.S. through studies and seminars on changing economic, legal, and regulatory conditions affecting industry. *
