In their February meeting, the AICPA board of directors announced that a letter of intent was approved to enter into final contract for sale of the AICPA's IPS engagement-manual product line to Practitioners Publishing Corporation, which holds more than 90% of the market in engagement manual business. A proposal was discussed to form an alliance with PPC to develop a CD-ROM that would include AICPA Professional Standards, Audit and Accounting Guides, Practice Aids and Alerts, PPC Accounting and Auditing Engagement Guides, and FASB and GASB pronouncements. The finance committee approved to purse alliance, and the board agreed. *
